Albany's Gerardo Suero has been selected as the StatSheet America East Player of the Week for the week ending February 6th. Four McGlynn from Vermont has won StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week.
Suero finished first in the America East in scoring (26.5 pts per game) and free throws (8.5 per game). He also had 50% shooting, 5 rebounds per game, and 3 assists per game. The Albany junior put these numbers up in a win versus Maryland-Baltimore County and a loss to Stony Brook.
Suero led scoring for the Great Danes with 32 points on 66% shooting in an 87-76 win over Maryland-Baltimore County. He followed that up with a team-leading 21 points and 7 rebounds in a 76-69 loss to Stony Brook.
This is a familiar honor for Gerardo Suero, who has been selected StatSheet America East Player of the Week six times. He has also come in second once. The runner-up this week is Alasdair Fraser, a sophomore from Maine. Honorable mention goes to Alvin Abreu, a senior from New Hampshire.
StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week: Vermont's Four McGlynn
Four McGlynn averaged 23 minutes starting both games for Vermont. In a late 68-67 win over Boston University, McGlynn contributed 11 points on 62% shooting. Following that in a massive 82-56 win over Hartford, he put up 14 points and 2 rebounds.
This is the second StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week award for Four McGlynn. Justin Edwards from Maine grabs runner-up. Yolonzo Moore from Hartford receives honorable mention. The highest ranking freshman from Binghamton was Ben Dickinson who finished 6th. Binghamton has yet to win StatSheet America East Player of the Week.
