Tommy Brenton from Stony Brook has earned StatSheet's America East Player of the Week award for February 18th. Jameel Warney from Stony Brook has earned StatSheet's America East Freshman of the Week. Brenton had great stats in scoring (9.5 pts per game), assists (5.5 per game), and rebounding (10 per game). The Stony Brook senior put these numbers up in wins against Binghamton and Vermont.

Brenton topped all rebounding for the Seawolves with 14 while also adding 5 assists in a big 73-47 win against Binghamton. In the next game he added 6 assists and 100% shooting in a 65-48 win against Vermont.

This is a familiar honor for Tommy Brenton, who has been selected StatSheet America East Player of the Week three times. The runner-up this week is Jacob Iati, a senior from Albany. Honorable mention goes to Zarko Valjarevic, a sophomore from Maine.

StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week: Stony Brook's Jameel Warney

Jameel Warney averaged 26 minutes starting both games for Stony Brook. His average in shooting (90.0%) was the best among all America East freshmen. In the win over Binghamton, Warney registered 9 points and 5 rebounds. Following that in the win over Vermont, he led all rebounding with 10 and also put up 100% shooting.

Amazingly, Jameel Warney has won the StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week 4 times. Our own Jordan Reed gets runner-up. Maurice Watson Jr. from Boston University takes honorable mention. Binghamton has yet to win the StatSheet America East Player of the Week award this season.
